Summary

As a Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist at the GS-0089-15, you will be part of Facilities Security & Emergency Management, Office of Personnel Management. If selected, you will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and conducting all emergency response actions for OPM to include insuring national security coordination efforts for OPM.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and manages the COOP/COG functions, plans, and programs and the building safety plans for the agency.
  • Supervises and directs the planning, development and implementation of the Emergency Management programs for the Headquarters facility and field offices.
  • Assists in the preparation of budgets, staffing, and planning issues related to the branch operations.
  • Plans, organizes, and implements large scale emergency operation and preparedness plans.

Qualifications

For the GS15: You must have one year specialized experience at the next lower grade level (GS-14) or equivalent in the Federal Service, which includes serving in a leadership role in emergency management; managing and evaluating programs related to emergency management, law enforcement, or medical activities; coordinating readiness activities and training; preparing and interpreting policy and guidance documents on emergency response issues and following emergency management related directives, regulations, laws and guidance.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
