Summary

This position is located in the Office of the Executive Director for Operations, Assistant for Operations Branch. The supervisor is Sherri Miotla. This position is non-bargaining. Expenses associated with interview travel and/or relocation may be paid. This position is subject to confidential financial disclosure reporting requirements and security ownership restriction reporting requirements.

The position is a temporary position, which may not exceed 1 year.

Responsibilities

As the Executive Technical Assistant for Transformation, you will be responsible for the following:

(1) develops, evaluates, coordinates, reviews, monitors and, as otherwise assigned, advises the EDO, Assistant for Operations (AO), and Senior Level Advisor for Change Management and Transformation on the NRC's progress in sustaining its transformation-related work;

(2) serves as NRC's primary communicator to internal stakeholders on transformation and other areas, as directed;

(3) supports transformation-related communications with external stakeholders;

(4) reviews program office work products, timeliness, and risks to success as they relate to the transformation performance measures;

(5) identifies major issues requiring EDO attention to improve the sustainability of the NRC's transformation efforts;

(6) coordinates with and remains cognizant of key interfaces and issues between NRC program offices, with the Commission offices and their staff, with pertinent external stakeholders, and industry groups, as appropriate;

(7) serves as a backup to other OEDO Technical Assistants in these related activities; and

(8) represents the OEDO on interoffice or interagency Task Groups, as assigned, to prepare recommended NRC policy and practices as they relate to transformation and innovation.

You will work with the Senior Level Advisor for Change Management and Transformation to identify and recommend strategies directed at sustaining the NRC's progress at achieving its transformation vision. You will serve as NRC's primary communicator on transformation to internal stakeholders and identify and work with appropriate offices to develop and oversee the agency's transformation efforts. You will support the sustainability of transformation across the agency by working with offices to establish effective actions, programs, or processes to integrate the use of transformation-related tools and resources into routine business.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower (GG-14) grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the transformation efforts at the NRC with a demonstrated ability to evaluate, coordinate, review, and advise on the NRC's progress in sustaining it's transformation-related work and execute a communication strategy within the agency through a variety of communication methods.
