The Director, Membership provides leadership of all aspects of the US Lacrosse (USL) membership product. This includes the ongoing development, evolution and execution of the member value proposition, as well as member recruitment, engagement and retention strategies. This position will lead collaboration with internal stakeholders in the development of programs, services and products to strengthen the value of membership, and will leverage data analytics to develop segmented marketing strategies for each member constituency. In this role, the director will report to the Vice President & Chief Relationship Officer and work closely with the Regional Development and Marketing and Communications teams, as well as staff and volunteers throughout the organization to grow USL's membership and reinforce USL's value to its members. Expected Hours of Work US Lacrosse core business hours are 8:00am to 8:00 pm Monday - Friday and 10:00am to 2:00pm on Saturday. This position is generally expected to work 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday - Friday and regularly/ occasionally requires longer hours or weekend work as related to events and other business needs. Travel Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. Lacrosse Experience Lacrosse experience is not required for this position. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions The essential areas of focus for this position are membership program development, marketing and growth. The director will develop and lead the execution of all member acquisition activities, including the deployment of a year-round member recruitment strategy, to achieve annual membership goals. This includes: Developing and evolving membership marketing and communication strategies and campaign plans to acquire, retain and reactivate members Analyzing and evaluating membership products and services, marketing activities, membership data and related trends Implementing innovative strategies to increase member engagement and regularly reviewing membership features, products and benefits Working collaboratively to deliver products and services that provide value to member organizations, meaningfully engage members and strengthen USL's membership program Tracking, analyzing, and reporting on membership performance on a regular basis Duties & Responsibilities Create a member-focused culture by designing and executing membership service and benefit programs and modeling relationship-building skills in all interactions. Foster a climate of innovation and resolve problems to ensure member satisfaction. Evolve and manage the membership acquisition and orientation processes to maximize efficiency & effectiveness. Develop key messages through a variety of communication assets to maximize member engagement. Support the Regional Development team in developing a year-round retention strategy focused on supporting member organizations and increasing the number of USL members. Work with the Membership and IT teams to prioritize and track data within the CRM database. Analyze data to inform future member recruitment and retention activities and communicate findings to help inform activities across USL departments. Work with key volunteer groups to support recruitment and retention activities and gather additional insight that supports marketing efforts and influences the development of ongoing acquisition and retention strategies. Work closely with Marketing and Communications staff to create and execute a complete set of membership marketing strategies, plans and campaigns. This includes: Oversee the production of all content and materials related to the promotion of USL membership Review content on the USL website to ensure core messaging outlining the value of membership is being appropriately delivered Utilize multiple communication channels and other technologies (eg, social media) to deliver USL membership messages Responsible for all membership-related email marketing Develop compelling membership marketing content, including email campaigns and print collateral to promote the benefits of USL membership and the value of joining Work closely with Information Technology staff to oversee all CRM and technology functionality improvements and develop innovative marketing ideas based on database capabilities. Develop and monitor all budgets related to the Membership department. Supervise Membership staff. Participate in organizational committees as requested. Perform other duties as assigned. PandoLogic.
