Direct Care Employment Opportunities - Adult Residential Programs Department: Community Services - Residential Programs Schedule: Full time (benefit eligible) and part time (non-benefit eligible) positions are available Hours: A variety of work schedules are available, including day, evening, overnight, weekday, and weekend hours Location: A variety of work locations are available throughout Maryland Summary: Sheppard Pratt's community residential programs offer adults with mental illness a range of housing options throughout Maryland. Services are also provided to individuals in their own homes. The programs honor the dignity of the individuals they serve and are respectful of personal choices. Services are person-centered, strength-based, and recovery-oriented, and are provided at a frequency and intensity that meets each resident's individual needs. The programs, which are nationally accredited and designed to facilitate independence and community engagement, use leading-edge and evidence-based practices that take into account each person's strength, needs, desires, health and safety. We are seeking compassionate people to provide services, supports, and interventions that assist individuals in living in the community and achieving their personal goals. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Care Coordination and Resource Management Money Management Planning Medication Monitoring and teaching independence Assisting clients with grocery shopping Meal preparation and healthy diet planning Education on the importance of cleaning routines and self-care skills Socialization and community integration Transportation Advocacy Direct care employees work as part of collaborative service teams that develop and implement individual service plans based on the assessed needs of the individuals served. Additional responsibilities include documenting and reporting services, client progress and ongoing needs. Looking for a career and not just another job- you have found your place Requirements: Some direct care positions require a high school diploma or GED and others of them require a college degree Previous work, student or volunteer experience accepted Valid driver's license and safe driving record (less than 3 points) Possession of a four passenger vehicle to transport clients (if applicable) Active auto insurance policy Successful completion of a federal and state criminal background check and 12-panel drug screening.
