Business Process Analyst Our client is a technical powerhouse in the electric utility industry that develops and promotes rules and protocols for the reliable operation of the power and electric systems of North America. They are seeking a Business Process Analyst to join their team! Here's what you'll be doing: Interacting with business end-users, stakeholders, and technical and non-technical project staff and combining the skills of a traditional business analyst and a program analyst Evaluating an organization's processes, functional systems, policies and procedures and recommending changes to positively impact efficiency, effectiveness, and risk controls Researching, gathering and analyzing information to identify trends and develop recommendations for improvement Analyzing current state processes and business systems and identifying non-value added steps, deficiencies, inefficiencies, or improvement opportunities and recommend specific changes or enhancements Analyzing current state processes and business systems and identifying significant risks and / or control gaps and recommend specific changes or improvements Interfacing regularly with department staff to solicit needs and wants from a continuous business process improvement perspective Providing documented business analysis and requirements for business processes and functional business systems, inclusive of use cases / user stories, process flows, and functional interface mock-ups Communicating and presenting well-formulated recommendations, documents, procedures, requirements, designs, and policies to department staff, management and other stakeholders in written, in-person, and virtual formats and settings Performing data cleanup, report configuration and business end-user support for department systems Here's what our ideal candidate has: Bachelors of Arts or Science degree or combination of relevant experience and/or relevant certifications may be substituted in lieu of a degree 4+ years of related business analysis, program analysis, process analysis or relevant analysis experience Solid knowledge of use cases, user stories, scenarios, test case formulation and test execution, and traditional and Agile project life-cycle methodologies In-depth understanding of process and information flow and its use in operations and decision-making Demonstrated understanding and usage of one of more formal business process analysis and optimization techniques such as Six Sigma, Lean, TQM, BPM, or equivalent Ability to calculate and leverage basic statistics such as averages, median, mode, percentages, rate of change and variance for analysis and in making recommendations Strong spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, and process flow and design software skills, such as MS Office suite and MS Visio or equivalent Keywords: Business Analyst, Process, Process Improvement, User Stories, Use Cases, Agile
