Director, Private LTE Product Management Director, Private LTE Product Management Remote NRTC is Member Driven and Technology Focused - providing solutions that help our 1,500 electric and telephone members bring all the advantages of today's evolving technology to rural America. NRTC's solutions are developed specifically to meet the needs of rural utilities and their customers, and include integrated smart grid solutions, metering networks, next-generation energy, demand management, broadband, managed services, mobile and video. We are a dynamic, growing cooperative with more than 750 employees operating out of seven office locations. We're looking to add experienced staff to our team to enhance and accelerate the development of a private LTE offering for smart grid, broadband, and mobile solutions. JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Private LTE Product Management will work with the VP of Smart Grid Advisory and Network to create a product management function within the newly formed Private LTE team. As an individual contributor and leader, s/he will be a player / coach of a cross-functional team that will launch and then grow private LTE solutions across the smart grid, broadband, and mobile business units . As one of the first members of this dynamic and strategic group, the roles and responsibilities will grow and change with success. The job will combine product management, project management, and business development capabilities to create and then grow private LTE solutions to benefit our members. As a private LTE thought leader, the Director of Private LTE Product Management will work with NRTC Regional Business Managers and Member Executives to create and close a pipeline of private LTE projects. S/he will also selectively partner with third parties to develop and deliver a co-op driven solution for co-ops. Candidates must demonstrate proven cross functional leadership ability to successfully work with internal and external sources to build and launch new product areas and deliver them to members. Candidates must also possess team development capabilities to grow and foster development of the various teams into leading business areas for NRTC. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop horizontal product management function for smart grid solutions with specific focus on RAN, core, and devices. Establish and maintain product roadmap for private LTE capabilities. Work cross functionally with smart grid, broadband, and mobile teams to develop consolidated and prioritized list of requirements for vendor adoption. Support NRTC member domain experts in establishing partnerships to leverage the private LTE network. Establish and grow relationships with NRTC members and serve as a private LTE thought leader and resource for members. Life of project responsibility for a wide range of transaction types from collaborations, to joint ventures, to multi-party partnerships. Advocate for critical partnerships across the organization consistent with NRTC's business development strategy. Support identification of vendor/partner resources required for successful deployment. Stay current on vendor roadmaps and provide input to partners on solution feature requirements needing development. Support field teams to eliminate technical barriers to member projects, providing configuration and technical follow up. Other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: 10+ years in LTE communications products / technology management, 2+ years in a management position. Smart grid and/or fixed wireless broadband experience a plus. Candidates should have telecom or IoT industry experience, project development and management experience. The ideal candidate will understand how advancements in the telecom and smart grid industries will transform rural electric smart grid and/or broadband adoption and have a firm grasp of the IoT value chain Experience leading complex operational and strategic initiatives across various geographies Knowledge of and extensive industry connections for private LTE or smart grid technologies a plus especially IoT, push-to-talk, 5G, and/or fixed wireless access (FWA) Ability to create electric utility financial models designed to represent the performance of a financial asset, project or other investment Candidates should be self-driven, able to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, and comfortable interfacing with internal and external stakeholders. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Strong cross-functional leadership experience required with a track record of collaboration and team building Effective project management, relationship-building and negotiation skill. Excellent written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to resolve conflicts and maintain positive relationships with internal and external clients.
