Peraton is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator with experience in managing mission-critical, highly available, high-performance networked systems in a Department of Defense (DoD) cloud environment. This position will be supporting the Systems Engineering group on an innovative and exciting program. Join us and be part of the next generation of innovators as we blaze a trail forward for our profession and company.* Provide support in the installation, implementation, operation, maintenance and security of Microsoft Windows servers, Linux based servers, and applications.* Support IaaS Linux systems (Remote Servers, Networking, Storage, Computer) hosted in cloud hosted platforms (AWS, Azure, and Google).* Resolve system issues and problems with infrastructure, that includes updating, patching, and system maintenance updates.* Evaluate and recommend hardware/software enhancements as needed including management of system updates and patches * Troubleshoot configuration and integration issues in production, test, and development environments.* Monitor and optimize system performance.* Create / develop a variety of scripts to streamline Operations & Maintenance (O) processes.* Configure security on supported platforms, research security issues / warning notifications for applicability and implementation of patches and fixes.* Ensure backup procedures are in place and executed on a timely basis.* Independently work with internal and external stakeholders, including the end user community, for diagnosing system issues.* Troubleshoot configuration and integration issues in development, test and production environments.* Provide guidance and technical resolution to end users and system owners* Perform scheduled and allocated work, providing guidance on modernization initiatives, and resolving problems to meet technical performance and financial objectives.Required Skills:* You hold an active Top Secret/SCI clearance and are willing to obtain a polygraph upon hire. * You are CompTIA Security + CE certified. * You have a Bachelor's degree and in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.and 8 (+) years of relevant experience. However, equivalent experience in lieu of a degree will be considered. * You have minimum 2 years of experience providing system administration and production support for Windows Operating systems. * You have minimum 2 years of experience working with Linux systems. * You have experience with Virtualization administration (OpenStack, Citrix XenServer, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, and/or VMWare). * You have experience with SolarWinds, Dell OpenManage, and Splunk.
