Aptive is seeking a Communications and Marketing Director to manage a portfolio of projects and lead business development activities. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting federal clients; comprehensive program management and strategic communications expertise; and demonstrated supervisory and management skills. This individual must be able to communicate effectively with both clients and team members to understand requirements and provide recommendations that have a direct impact on the program or mission. Additionally, this candidate must be able to become a trusted advisor, fostering relationships with potential clients to understand priorities and pain points that inform upcoming business development efforts. The desired candidate is a self-starter, proactive problem solver and action-oriented team player with previous experience in management consulting and business development pursuits. This position requires an individual that is committed to providing superior service, poised under pressure and has a positive and flexible attitude.This full-time position is primarily located in Alexandria, Virginia and the anticipated start date is June 1, 2021. Please note that until COVID-19 social distancing restrictions are lifted, this position will be fully remote.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS. 10+ years of experience with planning, developing, executing and assessing comprehensive strategic communications, marketing and advertising campaigns Bachelor's degree.) 8+ years of experience with federal government program and project management Experience leading pursuit of federal government contracts from capture to submission Strong marketing and communications expertise, leadership skills and aptitude to make informed decisions and recommendations Experience overseeing the design, execution and optimization of traditional and digital advertising campaigns Ability to mentor and lead a business line of highly capable professionals and aid in their career development Experience overseeing multiple contracts and supporting several different clients simultaneously Exceptional written, oral, listening and presentation skills Ability to productively collaborate with a wide range of personality types while meeting assignment demands Confidence and poise to work closely with senior executives PMP certification is strongly preferred Knowledge of Breezy or similar applicant tracking systems. US citizenship/permanent resident. JOB DUTIES. Manage and direct a portfolio of projects, working closely with program managers to ensure successful client delivery Oversee development of communications engagement strategies and implement strategic marketing tactics in support of campaigns, programs and events Lead media, industry and audience research to develop compelling, accurate and targeted advertising and marketing plans Collaborate with media buying team to develop marketing strategies and evaluate performance of digital and out of home advertising campaigns Assist project teams with conducting measurement activities to evaluate the effectiveness of communications efforts towards achieving intended outcomes Oversee management of business line tasks and milestones, including forecasting for a portfolio of projects Provide project quality assurance and help ensure conformance to defined project requirements Facilitate routine, on-going communications with identified federal points of contact for the duration of the work Effectively manage sub-contractor relationships, teaming agreements and staffing requirements Recommend procedure changes to management and coordinate leadership engagement activities to maintain efficient and effective processes Build and foster relationships with federal partners and internal team members Perform business development and capture activities in alignment with the strategic communications and marketing portfolio Utilize established network of contracts across federal agencies to inform business development opportunities Manage the full life cycle of business development pursuits from qualification of opportunities to submission of proposal Identify potential teaming partners and cultivate those relationships to support new business opportunities Support identification, qualification and capture of strategic communications and marketing opportunities across various federal agencies, including the Departments of Veterans Affairs, Defense and Transportation; National Science Foundation; Office of Personnel Management and moreManage full cycle recruiting process for technical and non-technical candidates ensuring a positive candidate experience.
