Systems Administrator maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space. Install and test patches including Windows and Linux OS patches, security patches, software support tools upgrades and other critical patches identified by the JMD and USMS IT security division. Roll back the system if necessary. Monitor and maintains systems, troubleshooting/tuning as needed to correct any issues. Maintain the production patch repository. Monitor applications for performance, availability and Resource Consumption. Check backups (Full, Differential, Transaction logs). Ensure the system is integrated in USMS COOP plans and support contingency and failover events Basic Qualifications: Experience as a systems administrator, software engineer, or similar technical role Experience with various code repository tools Preferred Qualifications: Knowledgeable with SAFe Agile practices and tools Experience deploying and maintaining national security software systems in a 24/7 environment Active adjudicated USMS background investigation or government security clearance Experience integrating tools to establish and maintain a CI/CD pipeline Experience with Pega systems to support patches and upgrades, including upgrades to support micro services. #USMSMMP We are an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
