The Director, Public Relations, Government creates and maintains a favorable public image for LexisNexis Risk Solutions Government Group by amplifying marketing messages, highlighting accomplishments, leveraging thought leadership to position us as trusted advisors, managing analyst knowledge and improve understanding of what we do. This position assists in the development and execution of public relations in concert with the mission, business goals and core values of the business. The Public Relations Director collaborates with the digital marketing team to track and report on performance of public relations activity. The Director will take point on all external messaging to media.Accountabilities: Responsibility for oversight of public relations that support a professional, ethical and positive reputation for the Government GroupWork with Marketing Directors and media agencies to develop and roll out Government Group messaging platform to amplify integrated marketing campaign messages. Coordinate global messaging across stakeholders and agenciesCoordinate development of media and analyst communication plans as part of integrated marketing plansManage editorial calendar and manage the internal SME plan including selection criteria, role expectations and measurement of resultsCoordinate with analysts for briefings and inquiries to support marketing strategyCoordinate pitches for agencies and byline article developmentCoordinate executive/spokesperson media trainingEstablish PR programs that address and engage target influencers and audiences that align with marketing strategyResponsible for the development of a crisis management plan to include the process for clear, accurate and timely communications and execute plan as neededManage press release development and distribution and support the preparation of subject matter experts for interviews and facilitation of media interviews including coordination of schedules and logisticsOversee the creation and implementation of a standardized PR media tool kitCoordinate agencies to deliver announcements and manage outreach to reporters and analystsCreate weekly updates, provide activity status report, monthly PR results report and quarterly dashboard - which tracks media placements, tone of coverage, etc.Submit for awards as directed by marketing leaders including, gathering content, materials for competitions, completing submissions, notifying internal stakeholders and determine channels for external (ie, social media, news release, website) and internal promotionManage budgets and outside agencies, freelancers, vendors and other third parties as neededMaintain and adhere to PR best practicesSupport RELX-wide efforts as requiredOther projects as assignedQualifications: A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications or a related field. 7+ yrs related experienceStrong knowledge and experience in State/Local and Federal governmentDemonstrated success developing and managing government programs and relationships with marketing teams and PR agenciesResults-focused approachDemonstrated experience and success in Business to Government external communications working with media (including social media) and print, analyst relations programsProfessionalism to deal with confidential and sensitive business questions and issuesTrack-record of success in an environment where change is constant; fast paced and often with strict deadlinesGovernment message development expertiseProven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a deadline driven atmosphereExperience supporting integrated marketing programsExcellent written and communication skillsHistory of collaborative, collegial working relationships, preferably in a matrix modelPR Newswire, Cision analytics tool and TrendKite PR tracking software experience is a plusWe are an equal opportunity employer: qualified applicants are considered for and treated during employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, national origin, citizenship status, disability status, protected veteran status, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by law.
