STG International is seeking qualified candidate for a full time Payroll Manager position at their Headquarters in Arlington, VA.This position is responsible for managing a two-person staff that processes multi-state payroll for 1400+ employees on a semi-monthly basis for Government contractors.Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Effectively oversee the day-to-day responsibilities of the Payroll Department with accuracy and timeliness. Identify and research problem situations, anticipate the cause, prevent future occurrences and supply solutions to management.Recruit, hire, train and develop staff members.Ensure compliance with current government contract timekeeping regulations.Be aware of and implement procedures to ensure compliance with changes in tax rules and regulations.Ability to complete and audit all payroll related journal entries for the General Ledger.Analyze system for streamlining of payroll processing; identify modifications to improve efficiency.Create and analyze custom payroll reports as required.Coordinate payroll year end process with Controller and VP of Finance as well as assist with audits throughout the year.Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resourcesPreparing and reviewing payroll account reconciliations and analysisEnsuring proper procedures and processing of bi-weekly payrollManages historical payroll files and records maintained in the accounting departmentSupport management with special projects and workflow process improvementsRequired SkillsRequired Skills:Must have a thorough knowledge of federal, state and local taxes.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Must have proven organizational and problem solving skills and a demonstrated abilityto prioritize multiple tasks under sensitive deadlines while maintaining timeliness and accuracy.Ability to function under minimal supervision and provide direction to other departments as well as work closely with Controller and VP of Finance.Independent judgment and insight needed to evaluate situations correctly as well as foresight to avoid complicationsExtensive knowledge of Deltek GCS Premier, Deltek Time & Expense and ADP Workforce NowProficient in Microsoft Excel and WordAbility to assist with process improvements in accounting and lead projectsRequired Experience Required Experience:Minimum of three years processing payroll.Knowledge of payroll and accounting systems including ADP and Deltek Costpoint.Supervisory experience in payroll, accounting or related business.Strong attention to detail and proficient analytical skills.Government contracting experience is highly desired.Ability to work flexible schedule required.Must have knowledge of Excel.Accounting experience desired.STG International, Inc (STGi) is a workforce solutions company providing comprehensive healthcare delivery, Head Start and management consulting services and human capital solutions help our clients.
