GDIT is looking for a Red Hat Systems Administratorthat holds TS/SCI with Poly clearance for a position located in Annapolis Junction, MD.Duties/Responsibilities:Manage, build and troubleshoot servers using LINUX Operating SystemsMaintain and build RED HAT and other Linux serversPerform administrative operations and maintenance functions of server hardware and software using RED HAT and other Linux operating systemsMaintains system security and executes common practices and procedures; monitors usage statistics and logs; monitors and remedies attempts to penetrate or corrupt server filesMaintains baseline configurations and performs modification of configuration settingsInstitutes troubleshooting and incident response proceduresTroubleshoots system related problemsProvides team leadership and guidance to less experienced administratorsResponsible for the training, motivation, discipline and performance evaluation of assigned employeesRemains current in operating systems/software analysis and technological developments and applicationsRecommends future direction or projects to managementProvides expertise and direction in the development or modification of software programs and applications to enhance an operating systemKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:The candidate must be experienced in Linux Server administration, primarily RED HATHas experience with Storage and VirtualizationExperience with the Windows operating system and McAfee is recommended but not requiredCompetent to work at a high technical level on all phases of systems engineering activitiesGood communication skills; shows tact, effective listening skills and follow throughAnticipates questions and is prepared with answersDetail oriented and organized; able to understand information systems and ensure accuracy of workAble to review the work of others and detect errors or needed modificationsProvides technical guidance and leadership to engineers with less experienceRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experienceTS/SCI with Poly requiredIAT Level II (ie Security+CE) certification requiredPreferred Qualifications: 1 year of related experienceRHCSA certification or equivalent preferredITIL v3 certification preferredCWIP - IAT level II Compliance:Persons provide network environment (NE) and advance level compute environment (CE) support. Responsible for finding and fixing unprotected vulnerabilities and ensuring that remote access points are well secured. Focuses on threats and vulnerabilities and improving the security of systems. Demonstrates a mastery of the functions of the IAT Level I position. Monitors, tests and troubleshoots hardware and software IA problems pertaining to the network environment. Recommends and schedules IA related repairs to include performing IA related customer support functions such as installation, configuration, troubleshooting, customer assistance, in response to customer requirements for the network environment (NE). Analyzes patterns of non-compliance and identifies vulnerabilities resulting from a departure from the implementation plan or that were not apparent during testing. Provides leadership and direction to IA operations personnel. Implement applicable patches including IAVAs, and IAVBs for their environment.
