Join a mission with a company behind it.Who You'll Be Working With:Evolent Health is seeking an Analyst, Practice & Performance Analytics to join our internal start-up business, Evolent Care Partners (ECP). In this role, you'll support our home-grown practice-facing IT platform used to drive physician network performance. This includes developing the platform's underlying logic, reporting enhancements, and even informing the platform's design and configuration. You will also help drive business unit performance through partnerships with operational stakeholders. Like everyone on the team, you would be asked to be reliable, be an excellent teammate, and contribute to our culture and strategy.The ideal candidate will be a strong individual contributor who can quickly get up to speed in new data environments, navigate unexpected roadblocks, and deliver results reliably. This role presents a unique opportunity to get in on the ground floor of an internal start-up and help leave your mark on healthcare.What You'll Be Doing:Participating in design and scoping of analytics work; be comfortable breaking new groundExecuting high-quality analyses with accuracy and attention to detail; anticipate challenges and navigate roadblocksVisualizing data to highlight insightful findings for diverse stakeholder audiencesSupporting maintenance and enhancement of the platform's underlying logic, and acting as internal R to evaluate and build new Intellectual Property into the platformManaging your time and productivity to deliver against agreed-upon timelinesDeveloping close working relationships with peers and leaders across Evolent Care Partners' analytics, clinical, operations, and IT teamsBringing an innovative problem-solving approach to continually differentiate Evolent's capabilities and exceed expectationsContributing to a culture of all team members feeling valued and respected, and maintaining Evolent values of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvementThe Experience You'll Need (Required):Bachelor's degree, preferably with a quantitative major (eg, actuarial, statistics, operations research, mathematics, economics) or healthcare major (health administration, epidemiology, public health, biology)Strong proficiency in Python and SQL1-2 years of professional experience in an analytics role (or comparable internship or graduate school experience)Comfortable working with multiple data sources in both structured data and unstructured format to create analytic solutions, solid technical abilities with data and database manipulation skills.Ability to communicate clearly with less technical stakeholders to solve problems; ability to translate between business needs and technical nuancesFinishing Touches (Preferred):Master's Degree, especially with a quantitative focus (eg, data science, machine learning, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or engineering)Professional experience in healthcare analytics (eg, medical claims data, membership data, or other healthcare data)Familiarity with value-based care and programs such as Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs)Working knowledge of Medicare claims, episode and condition groupers, case/episode and risk adjustment, patient attribution methodologies, and network analysis and pod developmentAbility to work well in a fast-paced environment and managing competing deadlinesIndependent thinker with a growth mindset and the desire to expand their technical skills, understand the broader business context, and contribute to business strategyUnderstanding of data systems and the critical thinking skills to solve new problems and adapt to changes in data architectureExperience with additional programming languages: R, SAS, JavaExperience working with HadoopExperience with BI tools (eg, Microstrategy, Tableau, Qlik etc.) and Visual BasicExperience working with unstructured data and/or NLPTechnical requirements: Currently, Evolent employees work remotely temporarily due to COVID-19. As such, we require that all employees have the following technical capability at their home: High speed internet over 10 MBPS and, specifically for all call center employees, the ability to plug in directly to the home internet router.
