Cordia Resources is currently looking for a Senior Accountant to join a fast growth government contractor in Reston, VA . As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for AP/AR, general ledger, and payroll related activities. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable with government contract types (Cost plus fixed fee, T&M, FFP, Hybrid, and Cooperative Agreements) related to billing and revenue recognition. Experience with Deltek Costpoint is a must. Senior Accountant Responsibilities: Creates and maintains assigned projects in Costpoint based on project requirements and in compliance with the Company's set up rules to ensure the proper recognition and recording of revenue based on the contract terms/deliverables Performs monthly reconciliations of billed/unbilled vs. revenue activity. Researches and resolves unexplained reconciling items. Notifies supervisor of significant, reconciling items that remain unresolved for extended periods Directly support the Controller, and work closely with cross-functional team members to help them optimize their performance by providing financial and operational information and analysis Participates in the month-end closing with entries, reconciliations, and reporting Senior Accountant Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance 3+ years of recent hands on experience with Deltek Costpoint A minimum of 3 years of AR experience to include project invoicing and collections 3+ years of AP experience to include invoice approvals, voucher entries, payment processing 3+ years of hands on experience with month end closing activities including reconciliation of cash accounts and general ledger accounts as well as journal entry preparation and analysis Payroll experience to include processing timesheets and expense reports Benefits of Working with Cordia Resources Cordia Resources is a leading recruiting and staffing firm in the Washington, DC area.
