We are seeking a Human Resource Specialist to support our client in Washington, DC. Please see below to find the job description and desired qualifications; The Human Resource Specialist must have the capacity to act independently and proactively anticipate the needs of a complex organizational unit. The HR Specialist will be responsible for providing human resources and operations support for the 90 staff members. Additionally, the HR Specialist will provide backup support to the otherpositions when necessary. The HR Specialist will report to the Cadre Care and Development Team.The Human Resource Specialist must have strong communication and coordination skills. The selected individual must have a strong sense of responsibility and a high customer service standard. He/she will maintain lists and follow-up on all actions, be highly organized, pay close attention to detail, have excellent proofreading skills with a mastery of English grammar, and be able to handle multi-tasking well. The selected individual must be an individual with sound judgment and excellent interpersonal skills. The HR Specialist will face situations that require an ability to manage a variety of complex portfolio(s) under extremely short deadlines.Experience:? This position calls for an experienced human resources support professional with the knowledge and the skills necessary to perform the assigned duties.? Previous human resource management experience, including related to staff recruitment, hiring, onboarding, personnel performance management, and offboarding.? Experience organizing and managing systems, processes, communications, documents, and data related to human resources in a large organization.Skills:? Demonstrated knowledge and skills related to human resource management? Demonstrated interpersonal and teamwork skills, including the ability to engage in delicate performance management conversations when necessary? Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Power Point, Access and other database software applications, Google knowledge a plus.Duties to be Performed:? The HR Specialist will establish and maintain systems and processes to monitor and advance a range of personnel issues.? The HR Specialist will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of information and data by assembling, preparing, and maintaining charts, databases/spreadsheets, and reports.? The HR Specialist is expected to serve as the point of contact and information concerning staffing issues. He/she should coordinate, assemble and finalize correspondence such as action memos, executive correspondence, procurement documents, and all memoranda related to management, on-boarding/off-boarding, and recruitment of the staff, and tracking and reporting on the staffing patterns and related support issues.? Maintains and updates office staff tracking documents in relation to supporting the management of the office operations, staffing patterns, projected staffing needs, staff recruitment trackers, memoranda, and correspondence, which includes logging a central correspondence tracker.? Monitors performance management calendars for all hiring types, provides accurate updates, information, forms, and support for all staff to enable them to complete their performance management obligations in a timely fashion.? Updates staff lists, emergency contact lists, and Cadre contact lists, along with Center seating charts.? Supports the management and compliance with agency policies, procedures, deadlines and taskers regarding official personnel files and/or staff recruitment packages. Coordinates with the Administrative Management Services (AMS) liaisons to facilitate the process for obtaining security clearances and badges.? Assist team leaders and senior managers by tracking and assisting, where necessary, onboarding of new hire employees and providing orientation for new staff, as well as offboarding of departing staff.? Provide advice and guidance to managers and employees on questions and matters related to the human resources as appropriate.? Determines pertinent issues, collects and shares relevant information from a variety of sources in adherence to Agency guidelines, policies and regulations, particularly as they related to human resources and related issues.? Perform other related duties as assigned.
