This position is located in the Office of Administration (ADM). The supervisor of this position is James Corbett. This is a non-bargaining unit position. Expenses associated with relocation will not be paid. This position is not subject to Confidential Financial Disclosure reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

The selectee will serve as a highly qualified technical specialist assisting and advising the Director/Deputy Director and will be responsible for a broad variety of matters related to implementing systematic and integrated corporate activities, plans and metrics. Serves as facilitator, communicator, and/or task leader for special assignments and ad hoc working groups.

Duties will also include and are not limited to:

Assist the Director/Deputy Director with internal and external communications initiatives, including communications with Office of Administration (ADM) staff, the Office of the Executive Director for Operations (OEDO) and the Commission, other Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) offices and Regions, and other government agencies, such as the General Services Administration and the Office of Management and Budget.

Identify, evaluate, coordinate, review, monitor, and advise the Director/Deputy Director on major issues within the office and recommend corrective actions. Integrate divergent views into a cohesive office position for Director/Deputy Director consideration.

Facilitate and ensure the development and implementation of long-range and short-term corporate management plans and metrics for the office and presents to management.

Lead inter- and intra-office ad hoc teams and working groups in the conduct of studies and analyses to propose solutions to management challenges that requires consideration of immediate- and long-range outcomes.

Qualifications

To qualify, candidates must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GG-13) level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience is defined as work experience that demonstrates mastery of advanced management and organizational principles and practices; comprehensive knowledge of administrative activities, budgeting, and strategic planning adequate to enable development, evaluation and direction of a wide variety of highly technical concepts, plans and programs; thorough knowledge and understanding of administrative functions and procedures, policies and goals, the sequence and timing of key program events and milestones, and techniques for evaluating program accomplishments.
