Summary

About the Position:

The CCDC C5ISR Center serves to research, develop and evaluate trusted communications and networking technologies to transition operationally relevant solutions to the war fighter through employment of a dedicated and superior workforce, world class facilities and global partnerships. This position serves as a Security Specialist for Headquarters C5ISR Center at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Harford County, Maryland.

Responsibilities

  • Executes a wide range of technical security functions to include personnel security, physical security, information security, operations security and industrial security.
  • Provide technical and instructional guidance to organization personnel on various security functions such as Collateral, (Sensitive Comparted Information) SCI, (Alternate Compensatory Control Measures) ACCM, and (Special Access Programs) SAP.
  • Applies security policies and procedures to adequately manage and direct information security education initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and present security related training to the workforce and maintain security training records.
  • Represent the organization at meetings, conferences, and other activities associated with the Information Security program.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • This position is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.
  • This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
  • This position requires occasional travel up to 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience is experience that demonstrates your ability to perform the work of the position. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service and it includes:
  • Experience applying a thorough knowledge of a wide range of technical security functions policies and procedures, such as Alternate Compensatory Control Measures (ACCM), Special Access Programs (SAP), Collateral , and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in managing security document control and share point sites.
  • Experience managing security education and training for large organizations in order to develop workforce security awareness.

  • You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
