Principal Associate, Process Management (Card)

As a Principal Associate of Process Management, you will be accountable for delivering processes that improve business efficiency, customer experience and drive results. You will work closely with product and technology teams, multiple business segments and our risk and compliance counterparts to ensure adequate control design, modernized implementation and optimal performance. You will also help implement automated monitoring systems and metrics and improve reporting to Accountable Executives and Stakeholders. You may also lead or engage in critical departmental or cross-functional organizational initiatives and projects. You will play a key role in delivering well managed, re imagined and streamlined processes that impact the company's bottom line and our customer's lives.

  • Driving process improvements aligned with desired customer outcomes
  • Analyzing, identifying, and correcting data issues with systems used or owned by a department
  • Providing subject matter expertise on processes when representing the department in projects and other meetings
  • Champion new delivery models including engaging Product and Tech teams in the creation and delivery of new products and controls

The ideal candidate for this role is an experienced, highly motivated process manager, with attention to detail and excellent communication skills. This candidate will have a strong background in process management, including the design of an effective internal control structure leveraging the latest cloud-based technologies with AWS. This individual needs to enjoy multitasking, problem solving and working in a team environment. The successful candidate will work closely with product, technology and finance partners in our value chain. Interested candidates should be self-led, with superior problem-solving skills, strong business judgment and effective written and oral communication skills, especially when engaging senior management. The ideal candidate will also possess foundational knowledge of various US Card operating processes, as well as an understanding of Capital One's risk management culture and programs.

  • A solid grasp of Preventive and Detective Controls and Monitoring, Process management concepts and Agile experience, working with Risk / Compliance Officers and Auditors, and experience working with data and automation tools.
  • The ability to be Technology fluent (or conversational) with a comfort level working in a technology world

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in Project management
  • At least 2 years of experience in Process management
  • At least 2 years of experience in Relationship management

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Business Management, Process Management, Project Management, Risk Management, Communications, Computer Science or Information Systems
  • Lean certification or Six Sigma certification
  • 2+ years of experience in People management
  • 5+ years of experience in Process management
  • 5+ years of experience in Project management
  • 5+ years of experience in People management
  • 5+ years of experience in Problem solving
  • 5+ years of experience in Relationship management
