Responsibilities

As a Affordable Housing Transaction Director, you will:
  • Provide oversight of the Office's pipeline of affordable housing transactions and related policy development.
  • Direct a staff of professional personnel to resolve preservation blockages in the Office of Recapitalization for the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program and for other multifamily assisted rental property preservation activities.
  • Represent the Office of Recapitalization to other organizations, including other HUD and other Federal officials, public housing authorities, industry stakeholders, property owners and tenants.
  • Establish goals and objectives for program and preservation operations in accordance with policy guidance and initiatives of the Office of Recapitalization.

  • Qualifications

    You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

    Specialized Experience:

    S
    pecialized experience is one (1) year of experience at the GS-14 level, or equivalent, which is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and has equipped the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position successfully. Specialized experience is defined as follows:

    - Managing and overseeing the operations and activities of a team which has responsibility for preserving, developing or financing affordable housing activities; AND
    - Underwriting, developing, or closing real estate transactions employing Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) and other forms of financing used for affordable housing preservation activities; AND
    - Participating in a program to develop or preserve affordable housing, such as the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) Program, HUD Section 202 Capital Advance Program, Mark-to-Market Program, Public Housing Mixed Finance Development, HOPE VI, or the Choice Neighborhoods Initiative; AND
    - Interacting and coordinating with federal or state officials at or representing HUD or state Housing Finance Agencies (HFAs) that are active in affordable multifamily housing programs to ensure timely and appropriate actions and to consummate affordable housing transactions in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    - A one year probationary period may be required.

    - Must successfully complete a background investigation.
