Early Childhood Education Faculty (Term Position)

The George Mason University College of Education and Human Development is seeking to add a full-time faculty colleague (open rank, term) in an inclusive Early Childhood Education (ECE) undergraduate and graduate program. About the Program: The program is focused on preparing educators to work with young children with varying abilities, birth through third grade, and families with diverse racial, ethnic, cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. The faculty prepares educators to work in a variety of ECE contexts, including community- and school-based programs. The program offers concentrations leading to Virginia licensure in Early Childhood Special Education Birth-Age 5 and Early/Primary Education PreK-Third Grade.

Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities for this position include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the ECE program, advising students, and providing program service.

Required Qualifications : Required qualifications include an earned doctorate in early childhood education, early childhood special education, or a closely related field; at least five years of direct teaching experience with children with varied abilities, birth through third grade, and families with diverse racial, ethnic, cultural, linguistical, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Required qualifications also include a commitment to equity and inclusion, teamwork, and collaborative decision-making. Preferred qualifications include experience teaching in-person and virtual undergraduate and/or graduate early childhood education courses focused on inclusive curriculum, assessment, and instruction.
