Summary

The MIL Corporation seeks a Systems Engineering, Senior Associate [IT Infrastructure Engineer - Systems Engineer (Level III)] to support a Federal Government client at our Bethesda, MD location. The IT Infrastructure Engineer will support and enhance data networking infrastructure; plan and implement migration to cloud services; and maintain consistent, optimized network performance to facilitate our client's missions.

Responsibilities
  • Network infrastructure planning, design, and configuration.
  • Testing network resources, hardware and software, server, and special-use workstation installation.
  • Make recommendations on network connectivity products, hardware, equipment, and miscellaneous materials needed to maintain and upgrade the local area network (LAN) and servers (file and application).
  • Review, recommend, plan, and implement migration of client storage, applications, and services to cloud services and platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.).
  • Attend working groups and meetings to provide expertise and input representing the best interests of the client.
  • Performance tuning and maintenance, technical system integration, and system capacity analysis and planning.
  • Implement and support a separate VLAN network for client scientific machines and desktops that have unsupported Operating Systems, facilitating access to enterprise resources without internet connectivity.
  • Following and recommending best practices.
  • Collaborating with contract team and Federal customers to promote a positive, helpful, and inclusive environment.
  • Managing tasks to meet customer SLAs and expectations, communicate issues and recommend remediation.
  • Performing other tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to drive and manage technical projects to completion on schedule, budget, and within defined scope.
  • Per federal guidelines, ability to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or obtain by January 18, 2022.

Desired Qualifications
  • Eight (8) or more years' experience building and operating mission critical networks.
  • Eight (8) or more years' experience in network design, major routing protocols, topology design, network hardware, device configuration and traffic engineering.
  • Eight (8) or more years' hands on experience with Dell network hardware and software.
  • Three (3) more years' implementing Spine/Leaf network topology.
  • Familiarity with Dell Supermassive firewalls and Cisco firewalls.
  • Dell Certified Professional Certification with emphasis in Data Center Networking.
  • Familiarity with Cloud technologies.
  • Strong skills in the following key areas including strategic thinking, multi-tasking, time management, planning and executing to a defined schedule.
