Job Description

The Washington Post is looking for a highly motivated junior graphic designer to hire under contract. This person will be supporting Post Live's graphic designer to create visual elements for our programs: print/digital ads, social cards, virtual backgrounds and more. He or she would be joining a fast-paced, collaborative team that produces approximately 10 live programs a week and would need to be extremely attentive to detail and work effectively and independently under deadline.

Responsibilities
  • Adhere to project requirements and concepts while taking direction from senior designers
  • Design digital and print collateral including social media channels
  • Design digital images or other types of marketing materials
  • Contribute to layout, typography, and photography decisions
  • Adhere to fast-paced project deadlines
  • Collaborate with team members
  • Take on special design tasks (e.g. photo correction, editing)
  • Balance multiple deadlines simultaneously


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design strongly preferred
  • Experience in an internship or entry-level graphic design role
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and InDesign
  • Attention to detail
  • Time management and multitasking abilities
