Westat has an immediate opening for a Lead Tobacco Research Associate to work with a multidisciplinary team of researchers focused on tobacco regulatory science and tobacco prevention and control research, and other related areas of public health. In this role you will contribute to a variety of tobacco research projects, including, but not limited to, an NIH and FDA funded coordinating center supporting a network of tobacco regulatory scientists.

Job Responsibilities:
- Scientific literature reviews, creating and managing databases of scientific products and measures.
- Promoting dissemination of scientific activities and products, including via social media and web platforms.
- Collaborating with senior scientists and supporting cross-institution collaborative tobacco-related research projects.
- Writing technical reports, scientific publications, and presentations.
- Collaborating on grant and contract proposals.

Basic qualifications:
Minimum of a Master's degree in public health, psychology, sociology, or a related social science or health science field with a minimum of 4 years of demonstrated research experience.

Preferred qualifications:
Doctoral degree

You will be highly organized, detail-oriented, able to take initiative, and able to work on a breadth of activities. Your strong collaboration and communication skills will be essential working with internal and external teams. Experience in statistical analyses, health communications, market research, and/or program evaluation will also be considered.
