At Freddie Mac, you will do important work to build a better housing finance system and you'll be part of a team helping to make homeownership and rental housing more accessible and affordable across the nation.

Position Overview:
This position is in the Single-Family Data & Decisions group within the Single-Family Division on the Shared Information Assets (SIA) team. The SIA team is responsible for the day-to-day management and support of SF data assets used throughout the Enterprise. The Shared Information Support Tech Lead will share responsibilities for the ongoing development, deployment, maintenance, and future enhancements of the Mercury Plus (M+) database being built in collaboration with Finance, IT, and I&CM as well as participating in other Single-Family data related initiatives. This M+ database will be used by the Mercury Plus Loan Valuation Engine (M+ LVE), an I&CM model application, for Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) forecasting of all assets and liabilities in the firm. Properly modeling the assets and liabilities will allow Freddie Mac to better hedge and manage economic and GAAP financial risks, including capital. • Accuracy and appropriateness of transformation logic
  • Internal consistency of disparate data sources
  • Completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of data loaded to the M+ database

Additionally, aligning the provisioning of the data in the M+ database with the SF D&D Data Strategy and the development of the Stratus, Freddie Mac's Cloud Native Data Lake, will require additional post-deployment development efforts for the M+ database.
Your Impact:
In this role, the Tech Lead will be an integral part of the SIA team and will be expected to:
  • Collaborate with Finance, IT, and I&CM to continue to improve the M+ database as new use cases are added
  • Find opportunities to optimize the timing and validation of data delivered to M+
  • Partner with the LVE team to identify Critical Data Elements and develop necessary controls to provide timely completeness and accuracy verification
  • Lead the development of the alignment of the provisioning of M+ data with the D&D Data Strategy
  • Develop and implement processes to identify and remediate data issues
Qualifications:
  • 8-10 years of experience with data, statistical models, and data governance
  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced studies/degree preferred
  • Proficiency with SAS, SQL, and use of relational databases
  • Experience working on cross-divisional teams
  • Familiarity with the Swap and Cash Window securitization and CRT processes
Keys to Success in this Role:
  • Concise and timely communication
  • Ability to sort through competing priorities
  • Drive to deliver results
  • Comfortable with ambiguity
  • Flexibility and willingness to prioritize
