MetroStar Systems is looking for a systems engineer to help lead our customers efforts to ensure continuous compliance with federal and agency-provided standards and regulations for system patches, software upgrades, etc. The systems engineer will help in hardening the full stack of current and future deployments, spanning everything from the underlying virtual machines configurations to application-level security controls. If you value collaboration, creativity, logic, and problem solving, we want you to work for MetroStar!If you are up to the challenge, come be a game changer and join our team!You're a great fit if:You enjoy all aspects of the system development life-cycle across all layersYoure passionate about making recommendations and keeping up with the latest tools and solutionsYou enjoy a fast-paced environment with a passion for supporting the most important levels of the US governmentYou'll love our company if:You have a bachelors degree in computer science, network security, or a related field and at least three of experience in a security-engineering role OR at least six years of experience in a security-engineering role.You have a minimum 4 years of specialized experience supporting 24x7 enterprise-class applications in a significant engineering or administrative role.You have experience operating in a secure environment to include deploying security controls to the Windows operating system.You have experience using Splunk Enterprise (Enterprise Security) for proactive monitoring and incident responseYou have experience developing and implementing incident-response plansYou have advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, evidence of skills analyzing information technology issue, evaluation alternatives, and making logical recommendations based on findings, ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusionsYou have performed scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hoursYou have experience in effectively manage multiple priorities and meeting deadlinesYou have an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain an SCI.We'll REALLY love you if:You have security-related industry certifications, including CISSP, CASP+, and Security+You have a masters degree in computer science, network security, or a related fieldYou have experience performing penetration testingWhat your day will look like:You'll work with our DevOps and system engineers daily to support growing needs of our agencys missionYoull be monitoring the overall network, application, database, and system security within Splunk Enterprise (Enterprise Security) and other monitoring tools. Youll be developing incident-response plans and collaborate with both the DevOps and Security teams to execute penetration testing for high-value systems and applications. Youll be spearheading incident-response actions, including both customer communication and technical procedures. Youll provide support to develop automated scripts and solutions to achieve sprint tasksThe Admin Stuff: Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for potential access to classified information.
