He or she is familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices and procedures. He or she relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals and performs a variety of complicated tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience with ANSYS, performing structural non-linear static simulations as well as non-linear transient simulations with implicit and explicit solvers. Thermo-mechanical and modal analysis experience is also desired. At a minimum they will have a good fundamental understanding of basic FEA principles such as mechanical material properties, mesh generation, contacts, and boundary conditions. They will have a desire to become proficient at FEA within the ANSYS environment.Participates in and oversees the process to maintain technical documentation on all projects to include parts lists, drawings, work instructions, etc. in accordance with industry standards. The person in this position designs the difficult aspects of our products and leads teams that design, develop, document, assemble and test all aspects of components and complex systems. He or she will lead and personally conduct complex procurement. He or she presents works with other CTI project team members to obtain requirement guidance and develop and get approval of task requirements. Directs and mentors less experienced engineers and checks their work. Coordinates with task and Program Managers, Manufacturing Managers and Director in task accomplishment. Interfaces directly with customer throughout the lifecycle of a project. May be responsible for initial contact meeting, requirements development, design progress review(s), testing, delivery, etc. Contributes to proposal development in the area of technical approach, Work Breakdown Structure and cost/schedule.A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Requirements: Active Secret Clearance required. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering a plus. Experience with hardware design, the use of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for design analysis and use of one of the FEA software packages. Preferences: Project management experience is a plus. Experience performing hands-on assembly of and modifications to electromechanical systems. Experience analyzing complex functions, procedures, and problems to find creative, logical and effective solutions. Significant Experience with ANSYS to conduct Finite Element Analysis.Security Clearance: Secret
