FIELD SURVEY CREW CHIEF (3-5 YRS EXPERIENCE)

GORDON, a multi-disciplinary firm of design and surveying professionals with the common goal of providing creative solutions to today’s challenging design and mapping environments is seeking professional, self-starting individuals with a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Crew Chief in the DC metro area for its Chantilly VA Headquarters office.  Our staff of Civil Engineers, Landscape Architects, Planners, Security Consultants, and Surveyors work together in an enjoyable work atmosphere where the employees’ goals are as important as the corporate goals.

The individual shall possess leadership skills and provide excellent customer service and professional representation of the company; perform coordination with contractors, be responsible for other survey field crew personnel and able to work as a one-person crew utilizing robotic and GPS equipment; have a valid driver’s license and good driving record; pass federal criminal background checks required for federal projects; have excellent written and verbal communication and math skills, and be familiar with Microsoft office products, Windows 10 and tablet applications.  Experience with Leica robotic total stations and GPS equipment, Carlson SurvCE or Leica Captivate is preferred.

The successful candidate will have working knowledge of field survey data collection for topographical mapping, horizontal and vertical control surveys, right of way surveys, topographic surveys, and utility locations to be used in preparation of design plans; the ability to perform traverse and boundary/retracement surveys; perform ALTA surveys, as-builts, and construction staking/layout.
