Senior Manager, Enterprise Services Risk Learning

This Senior Manager role will have the responsibility of driving the risk learning and development agenda for Capital One Enterprise Services teams. With visionary leadership, this individual will guide a team of talented learning professionals to architect, build, and deliver a distinguished learning experience across a variety of multiple roles. This individual will partner closely with key business leaders to understand the highest priority business needs both now and in the future, partner to identify the highest points of leverage in learning for the business, and craft learning solutions to enable that learning. This leader will also serve as a visionary and architect for crafting new experiences to instill a risk culture across ES.

The Senior Manager will:
  • Have an entrepreneurial spirit that enjoys working in whitespace to craft a learning strategy;
  • Enjoy building relationships with senior business and risk leaders and developing a perspective on the value add of Learning;
  • Interested in developing talented learning associates;
  • Passionate about the associate and customer experience and if people regularly seek you out because of your creativity and problem solving.


Key Responsibilities
  • Build close partnerships with executives and leaders to understand imperatives, gain insights into critical drivers for the organization, and consult on the appropriate learning and development agenda.
  • Lead and manage a team of learning professionals who consult, design, develop, curate, and deliver learning solutions.
  • Accountable for business-critical learning priorities focused on job-specific skills and competencies, cultural transformation, and more.
  • Collaborate with key business partners to identify and prioritize points of leverage in learning for business impact, and scope learning needs for new initiatives to build out our learning portfolio.
  • Partner with other Learning & Development professionals across the Enterprise to gain efficiencies, share best practices, and optimize how we interact.
  • Drive the creation and adoption of innovative digital learning solutions, created in-house and through vendor partnerships.
  • Define and socialize our story of how we plug in as a strategic risk training lever, culture impactor, and business results driver and where we can optimally support the business.
  • Partner with analysts to measure the impact of learning on business success, as well as to identify performance trends as an input to future learning efforts.
  • Recommend appropriate change management solutions to increase adoption and reflect and influence the learning culture.
  • Coach and develop direct reports to enable them to bring their best skills and talents and to continue to grow.
  • Represent learning in broader project efforts, ensuring an early focus on the implementation needs to ensure effective delivery in alignment with project timeline goals.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant learning trends, industry benchmarks, and leading edge technology advancements with recommendations on how they could positively impact Capital One and learning culture.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in client facing consulting
  • At least 3 years of experience in people management
  • At least 3 years of experience in learning and development
  • At least 3 years of experience in project management
  • At least 3 years of experience in learning strategy creation


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Business, Instructional Design, Organizational Learning, or Human Resource Development
  • 5 years of experience in client facing consulting
  • 5 years of experience in people management
  • 5 years of experience in learning and development
  • 5 years of experience in learning strategy creation
  • 5 years of experience in a digital organization
