Summary

This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administrator (DEA), Inspection Division,Office of Security Programs, Insider Threat Section.

This position primary purpose is to support the Insider Threat Program by integrating employees, technologies, and other resources to protect DEA's mission from insider threats and establishes information sharing among DEA-wide, and other Federal agencies, to achieve common goals and measurable results to combat insider threat.

Responsibilities

As a your typical work assignments may include:

Exercises supervisory and/or managerial authorities and provides occupational specific technical and administrative direction over subordinate employee performing the work and functions of the organization.

Develops and oversees new projects for business process improvements, evaluating results, identifying gaps, overlaps, and areas for efficiencies, inputs/outputs, and recommends effective solutions for continuous improvement to senior management.

Ensure education and compliance with security directives for employees with access to classified or sensitive material.

Responsible for the work of the section/unit employees complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets agency or customer needs.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the Basic Requirement AND Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Qualification claims will be subject to verification.

You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent . Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience for this position includes: One year of specialized experience at the GS-14 Federal grade level performing duties such as: 1.) conducting research and analysis on security related policies and procedures, and making recommendations; 2.) providing technical advice and guidance on security program matters; 3.) collaborating with internal and external customers on security related matters; and 4.) overseeing a subordinate staff.

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-14 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-13. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
