Summary

This position is part of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. The incumbent will be responsible for serving as an expert interagency advisor by developing and sustaining relationships with Interagency partners, gathering and exchanging vital information with Interagency partners, identifying opportunities for collaboration on complex activities of mutual interest and leveraging the capabilities and authorities of Interagency partners to enable and support accomplishment of DTRA missions.

Responsibilities

As a INTERAGENCY ADVISOR at the GS-0301-13/14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
  • Prepares and coordinates staff actions in support of interagency collaboration and activities.
  • Develops OI and DTRA's position on the activity or request from the Interagency partner(s) and coordinates it with DTRA directorates.
  • Assists and supports implementation of DTRA Interagency Strategies by garnering Interagency support for collaborative efforts in the areas of CWMD, countering threat networks (CTN) and activities associated with counter proliferation (CP) and counter facilitation.
  • Identifies what interagency authorities and capabilities DTRA might seek to leverage to accomplish its CWMD, CTN and CP missions and support crisis response work.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains informal information databases for interagency operations and activities.
  • Oversees the Interagency Team Section by assisting in delegating responsibility and providing guidance to team personnel ensuring projects are completed according to schedule and quality standards and maintaining a high-level of performance and achievement by all employees.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain informal information databases for interagency operations and activities;
  • Skill in displaying consideration and appropriate responsiveness to the needs, feelings and capabilities of a diverse work group in varied situations in order to effectively listen and clarify information/instructions as needed;
  • Building teams (permanent and adhoc) and fostering cooperation throughout the organization in order to ensure that mission objectives are met within stated guidelines and timeframes.
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
  • Provide detailed information papers, talking points papers, policy information, verbal briefings, decision papers, and strategic guidance documents to explain action items, projects and/or program problems to be solved, and deadlines and timeframes for completion to team members;
  • Develop, implement, and maintain informal information databases for interagency operations and activities.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
