RECREATION SUPERVISOR – Starting Salary $62,254

The City of Greenbelt’s award winning Recreation Department has an opening for a Recreation Supervisor position.  The incumbent will be responsible for supervising recreation personnel and developing, implementing, coordinating and modifying recreation programs benefitting individuals and groups of all ages throughout the City.

 Some essential functions are: Oversees and manages the City’s special events; Assists with the development, implementation and overall supervision of City camp programs along with preschool and recreation classes for children; Develops, produces and distributes public information materials; Develops annual budget (s); Ongoing communications with professional colleagues  (internal and external)

The normal work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 5:00 p.m. and requires flexibility to work some evenings, weekends and holidays.  Minimum Qualifications:  CPRP preferred; Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Recreation, or a related field; and four to five years of progressively responsible experience; or any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.  The City provides a generous fringe benefit package including medical, dental, life and retirement plans.  To view the job class specification, summary of benefits and to apply, log onto www.greenbeltmd.gov.  A City of Greenbelt application is required.
