"Term Instructor/Term Assistant Professor

The George Mason University Department of Mathematical Sciences, in the College of Science (COS), located in the vibrant Washington, D.C., area, invites well-qualified candidates to apply for a nine-month, renewable Term Instructor/Term Assistant Professor position. Responsibilities: Starting in the Fall 2021 semester, the incumbent will teach undergraduate courses and provide some service duties associated with the department's undergraduate degree. We are particularly seeking candidates who are able to teach a wide variety of undergraduate lower and upper level courses, including but not limited to Mathematical Statistics, Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics Education, Data Sciences, Calculus, Discrete Mathematics, Linear Algebra and Differential Equations.

Required Qualifications: * At a minimum, applicants must have an M.S. Degree in Mathematics, Mathematical Statistics, a related field or a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education; * Experience teaching mathematics in a university setting.

Preferred Qualifications: * Demonstrated strong pedagogical skill set; * Demonstrated experience and interest in inquiry-based learning and/or other interactive classroom instructional models in high school and/or university settings; * Strong intercultural competency; * Demonstrated experience with course design and/or curriculum development; * Experience providing organized leadership in an educational setting.
