Duties

Summary

This position serves as an Information Technology Specialist in the Production Support Operations Branch, Solution Delivery Division, Technology Office (TO), Business Center - Operations Office, Rural Development (RD), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

The Production Support Operations Branch is responsible for the production, deployment and maintenance of information technology (IT) solutions that integrate seamlessly into the RD enterprise architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as technical expert who ensure IT infrastructure services are delivered effectively and efficiently. Establishes, maintains, and supports RD computing and technology systems and infrastructure.
  • Represents the Branch in dealings with personnel internal and external to the Office. Meets with involved parties to identify issues, explore alternatives, and arrive at acceptable solutions.
  • Provides input, documents standard operating procedures, and supports the design and delivery of ITSM support services. Manages infrastructure KPI?s and metrics to ensure proper operations and efficient performance.
  • Supports a variety of Operating Systems (OSs), applications, programs, and platforms as well as various infrastructure management tools.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement, qualified applicants must possess:

Time in grade: Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirement of 52 weeks of service at the next level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled

For the GS- 13 Level: Applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level; or its non-Federal equivalent that demonstrates: Experience leading and overseeing the integration and management of the Salesforce platform. Experience coordinating Change and Deployment Management activities, specifically reviewing Requests for Change (RFC's), categorizing change requests, scheduling deployments, and providing guidance with completing deployment packages. Experience with documenting platform solutions and policies. Experience working with customers and projects teams on successful implementation of platform software. Proven customer support and resolution of platform incidents. There is no substitution of education for experience at the GS-13 level.
