Responsibilities

As an Examination Technician in SyRIS/SSP, you will:
  • Perform, and assume responsibility for completing specialized, technical tasks in support of SSP supervisory and program-related activities, such as, generating/preparing recurring, standard and custom reports and data worksheets.
  • Conduct research of internal sources of cybersecurity, payments, FinTech, and information technology and searches external sources for news releases specific to the SSP companies.
  • Provide assistance to examiners during the planning stage, and while applying knowledge of information technology and general examining in order conduct portions of the examination process regarding quality control reviews, financial reviews, and review of audit reports and ratings to assess effectiveness of audit programs.
  • Prepare spreadsheets, financial institution client lists, correspondence, and other documents for conclusion/close-out activities.
  • Provide administrative support for the Assistant Deputy Comptroller and Analyst to include timely processing of supervisory products and updating supervisory systems.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement:

You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-III pay band or GS-7 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience for this position include:
  • Researching, assembling, and analyzing financial data to validate financial statements or reports; And
  • Processing financial transactions, creating and maintaining financial spreadsheets/accounts, and resolving account discrepancies.

OR

Education: One full year of graduate education meets the requirements where it is directly related to the work of the position. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement.

An equivalent combination of education and experience

The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
