Summary

The position is located in the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board (DNFSB), Office of the General Manager. The incumbent serves as a Division Director and is responsible for managing a variety of programs that support the achievement of agency goals and objectives. He or she will develop and administer DNFSB policies and procedures governing Division programs and activities to ensure the highest level of customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

As a Director of Operational Services GS-0301-15, your typical work assignments may include the following:
  • Serving as a senior advisor to both the General Manager and the Deputy General Manager on a wide variety of administrative functions, including acquisitions (contracts/procurement), facility management, Information and Physical Security, Records Management, FOIA, and Continuity of Operations.
  • Promoting continuous improvement of Division programs to increase the efficiency, effectiveness, and flexibility of Division operations. Identifying and resolving problems which could have a potential agency-wide impact.
  • Providing equal employment opportunities and implementing Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policy for the division.
  • Providing guidance for the preparation, presentation, formulation, justification, and execution of programs.
  • Planning, directing, and evaluating the DNFSB contracts and acquisition program.
  • Directing long-range and annual work plans and management studies. Providing recommendations to senior management.
  • Performing the full range of supervisory functions for a staff that includes professional, administrative support, and contractor personnel.
  • Provide oversight of the Security Program and serve as a security officer for the agency.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of the DNFSB security program.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.

Specialized Experience for GS-15:

Applicant must have one full year of specialized experience performing the following: (1) Implementing laws, policies, and regulations of the assigned program areas (including acquisition planning, records management, property & space management, and security); (2) Utilizing management techniques that include planning, organizing, directing, evaluating and coordinating the administrative needs of the agency; (3) Providing leadership and direction to the staff; (4) Overseeing the acquisition/procurement activities for the agency, insuring these activities comply with federal law and regulations.

Time-in-Grade Requirements: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-14 is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-15 level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted).
