Responsibilities

Joining Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) means being part of the team focused on securing the Nation's physical and cyber infrastructure and the public safety communities against threats to public health and safety, economy, and national security. Within CISA, the Stakeholder Engagement Division (SED) develops and curates partnerships to broaden CISA's influence, position the Agency as a thought-leader across the cybersecurity and infrastructure security mission space, and improve coordination and integration of stakeholder relationships. SED manages CISA's customer relationship management platform, collects strategic stakeholder feedback and requirements, fosters collaboration and a culture of shared ownership of these relationships, and aligns and manages priorities and performance for stakeholder engagement efforts across the Agency.

In this position, you will serve as an advisor to senior management by using qualitative and quantitative methods to assess both the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, organizations and other management issues .Typical work assignments include:
  • Participating in the development of critical infrastructure risk management reports.
  • Managing and evaluating the development of interim or final draft reports developed by the IT sector and other industry working groups.
  • Assuring all timelines/milestones are met with critical infrastructure and industry-related projects, activities and initiatives.
  • Reviewing productivity in all areas, monitoring problem areas and overseeing implementation of solutions to problems.

Qualifications

You qualify for the GS-13 grade level (starting salary $103,690.00) if you possess information technology related experience demonstrating each of the four required competencies:
  • Attention to Detail: Evaluating the work of staff to determine areas of improvement
  • Customer Service: Delivering systems and services that are responsive to the needs of customers
  • Oral Communication: Speaking with managers regarding IT system security
  • Problem Solving: Resolving issues and problems associated with security technologies and/or threats


  • In addition to the Basic Requirement you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level performing the following duties:
    • Implementing plans and practices to support mission critical programs
    • Assisting in system security evaluations to develop disaster recovery procedures
    • Conducting evaluations of ongoing program functions to ensure the IT sector meets it's goals


    You qualify for the GS-14 grade level (starting salary $122,530.00) if you possess information technology related experience demonstrating each of the four required competencies:
  • Attention to Detail: Conducting comprehensive evaluations of ongoing functions to ensure that IT meets its stated goals
  • Customer Service: Consulting with program specialist to recommend solutions on issues impacting programs
  • Oral Communication: Providing guidance to management on cybersecurity issues
  • Problem Solving: Reviewing productivity in program areas to recommend solutions


  • In addition to the Basic Requirement you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level performing the following duties:
    • Analyzing issues of effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of mission oriented programs to develop detailed plans for long-range goals
    • Engaging in risk assessment activities to assess cyber threats, vulnerabilities and consequences that may debilitate critical infrastructure
    • Recommending appropriate IT system deliverables to meet cybersecurity needs


    National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
