Description: Middle River Aerostructure Systems is a world-leading manufacturer of thrust reverses (the braking system on a jet engine), engine nacelle components and specialized aerostructures. It supplies and supports these products for engine makers, airplane manufacturers and aircraft operators. Located on Maryland's Chesapeake Bay near Baltimore, MRAS has a 1.7-million sq. ft. facility situated on 180 acres - where the company and its predecessors have designed, built and equipped civil and military aircraft for nearly 90 years. In 2019, MRAS was acquired by VT Systems, the US affiliate of Singapore-based ST Engineering - becoming a part of its global network of aerospace facilities and offices. With the ownership change, the company was renamed Middle River Aerostructure Systems. Summary: Focus on projects/process improvement to ensure that processes and products are designed with appropriate quality measurement systems. Minimize risk of poor quality. (eg-Master Black Belt and Black Belt). Requires mastery of a body of theoretical knowledge. Requires developed and strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant technologies Job Responsibilities: -Develops and deploys annual plans for the continuous improvement team in the facility -Develops and implements training for the Plant to promote growth and improvement for continuous improvement -Lead regularly scheduled Continuous improvement meetings with Plant leadership to review and track progress -Performs data analysis to identify trends and opportunities of improvement for key metrics -Manage lean manufacturing improvement projects including process improvement, green field, revamp-up or extension, within operations . Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace Engineering or related field from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing Improvement. Understanding of Lean, SPC, 5S, Six Sigma, and other CI tools Proven experience in influencing, leading teams and driving change results orientation Desired Characteristics * Six Sigma Black Belt, Master Black Belt certification or equivalent Quality certification * Leadership experience in the areas of Operations, Manufacturing, or Quality * Strong computer skills in various software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project * Strong analytical and organizational skills * Ability to implement change and improve process MRAS is an equal opportunity employer and service provider and does not discriminate on the basis of race, age, religion, gender, gender identity, national origin, citizenship status, sexual orientation, disability, political affiliation or belief, or any other protected class.
