The Senior Systems Database Engineer applies laws, policies, directives, and guidance to acquisitions throughout the total life cycle. The Senior Systems Database Engineer will provide systems engineering (SE) support to assess and oversee the technical requirements, design, development, and implementation for those systems under the purview of the Marine Corp Recruiting Command (MCRC).

  • Support contract procurement planning, solicitation, award, and monitoring activities.
  • Conduct requirements analysis, design, development, performance measurement, verification and validation, certification and accreditation, deployment, change management, and transition by applying a broad and deep set of engineering and database expertise.
  • Conduct analysis of various database structures and links and develop singular or multiple databases capable of populating data to meet the contractual needs of the US Marine Corps MCRISS program.
  • Perform data migration from various client databases into a consolidated database.
  • Analyze functional business applications and design specifications for functional activities.
  • Employ knowledge of client server and internet systems architectures.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience with systems engineering support, including requirements definitions, architecture development, and other program support.
  • Possess and maintain a valid state motor vehicle operator's license.
  • DoD 8570 IAT or IAM Level II or III certification required.
  • Secret clearance required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • 5+ years of experience with database development preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate a broad and deep set of engineering expertise.
  • Possess significant knowledge and experience with database procedure languages, including SQL, MySQL, T-SQL, and Oracle, etc.
  • Ability to understand complex database concepts, including the implications of different database designs and possesses demonstrated work experience with more than one relational database management system.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral), strong customer service and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to listen and understand what is being described by the end user as well as the ability to explain problem resolutions when necessary.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision or guidance.
  • Ability to occasionally work after hours and/or as on-call support.

  • The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.
  • During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
