Description SAIC is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our team in support of the US Army Corps of Engineers Revolutionary IT Services (USACE RITS) supporting FEMA and other programs for Federal, state, local, and tribal entities during national and natural emergency response and recovery operations in Washington, DC. USACE provides support to the FEMA and other USACE OCIO/G-6 emergency response services provide IT capabilities in support of operations other than war (eg, disaster relief, defense support to civil authorities, and foreign humanitarian assistance). Such services are primarily in support of emergencies or contingency operation and directly support the Enterprise Emergency Response Team. Note: Candidate must have the ability to be on a recall status for deployment within 12 hours and will receive TDY pay when activated. Will need to have an active passport, ability to lift 50 pounds above their head, ability to stand or walk for long periods of time and capable of living in austere conditions when called to; that may consist of no electricity, etc. Responsibilities:Performs high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex operating systems, workstations and servers. Coordinates, directs and performs complex software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages. Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Continually monitors and tunes multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levels. Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions of varying complexities. Ensures data/media recoverability by developing and implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations. Plans and implements the modernization of servers. Develops, implements and promotes standard operating procedures and schedules. Conducts hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines. Works closely with Network and Systems Analysts to help determine and develop the systems that will be implemented. Qualifications Required Education and Experience: Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and 0 years related experience; High School / GED and six (6) years or more experience. Certification Requirement: Security+ prior to start date. Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain and possess an Active DoD Secret security clearance, an interim clearance is acceptable to start. SAIC will assist with the processing of an interim clearance for the qualified candidate.
