Responsibilities

  • Oversee the work of assigned trainees, engineering technicians, heavy equipment operators, and crane operators engaged in test infrastructure sustainment, infrastructure management, and developmental test support.
  • Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, the difficulty of the work to be performed, and the capabilities of employees.
  • Serve as a contracting officer's technical representative (COTR) for organizational mission support contracts.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes 1.) Technical and administrative oversite of the use of heavy earth working equipment, heavy transport, and mobile cranes up to 250 tons; 2.) Oversite and construction of range structures such as (soil boxes for live fire events, bridge ramps, test courses, and range roads, etc.); 3.) Development and review of rigging and lift plans for standard and nonstandard loads (damaged vehicles, gun tubes, etc.); AND 4.) Development and evaluation of safety plans and documents for the use of heavy equipment in support of testing missions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of, but not limited to, work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NJ-03).
