Responsibilities

Serves as the Marketing Production Manager for all lines of business with the Marketing Directorate, Business and Support Services Division (MR), Manpower and Reserve Affairs Department, Headquarters Marine Corps. Reports to the Customer Experience Manager. Responsible for coordinating the production of printed and digital advertising campaigns for the MR division ensuring that all projects are completed on time and within budget.

Working with the Customer Experience team (CX team), participates in the creation of an annual master advertising calendar including print, digital, in-store, event support, etc. to drive traffic, increase awareness and promote the brand.

Responsible for the operational aspects of assigned integrated marketing campaigns including establishing timeline, scheduling meetings, project quality, budget, and execution. Creates all template layouts annually.

Working amongst the CX Team, coordinates the execution of the advertising layout and design in accordance with budget and operational parameters for integrated marketing campaigns. Responsible for quality of the campaign elements produced including design (press proofs, optimizing layout for budget, accuracy and proofing, etc.) and customer interaction elements (in-store execution, barcode scans for coupons, etc.). Responsible for copywriting and proofing of campaigns assigned, and for conducting the final proofing on all retail-advertising circulars. Responsible for coordinating with external parties (sister services, external agencies and non-Federal entities, etc.) for special campaigns. Once a campaign has launched, checks all command websites to ensure proper posting of all campaign materials, to include eMag or other digital circular links, coupons, etc. Reviews social media postings to ensure linkages to current circular(s) where appropriate and to recommend content that should be shared enterprise wide.

Responsible for managing the vendor(s) contracted to execute the program including design, photography, production, mailing, etc. Responsibilities include working with procurement to ensure active contracts are maintained, holding vendor accountable to the requirements of the contract, preparing regular reviews for Chief Innovation and Marketing Officer (CMO) and Customer Experience Manager and ensuring vendor compliance with MCCS rules and standards. Responsible for escalating issues where the vendor is non-compliant with performance metrics. Coordinates and executes executive level agency reviews twice annually with CMO, Chief Operating Officer (COO) and General Merchandise Manager.

Develops communication materials to support campaigns to be distributed to the installations including playbooks, scripts, etc. Communicates with field on expected presentation for promotional merchandise and collateral set up. Communicates instructions for visual merchandising as it pertains to fixturing, shop concepts and seasonal trim packages.

Interacts with the merchandising team to ensure quality control, adherence to timelines, and keeping projects within budget. Works with buying team and vendors to ensure access to all samples, visual images needed, etc. Works with photography vendors to arrange photo shoots.

Responsible for establishing and optimizing all processes pertaining to marketing production including proofing, customer opt-in, vendor coop, print production process, mail and distribution process and seasonal event processes.

Working with the CX team, identifies innovative means to reduce overall budget of print advertising and explore new mechanisms by which to communicate with the customer and drive revenue growth through digital channels.

Works with vendors and IT to ensure customer list is regularly maintained and hygienic. This includes scrubs against opt-out requests, reconciliation against authoritative source, and ensuring vendor maintains MCCS standards for data security. Works with other Department of Defense entities to conduct joint promotions for retail and other lines of business. Serves as the primary point of contact for all inter-service campaigns.

Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

Performs other related duties as assigned. May travel to complete work assignments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in , marketing, business administration or a related field appropriate to the work of the position and FOUR YEARS of experience in the occupation, or a related field or work area, OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above, OR appropriate experience that demonstrates that the applicant has acquired the knowledge, skills and abilities equivalent to that gained in the above.
  • Must have demonstrated experience in managing the production of integrated campaigns including print, digital, and in-store execution.
  • Must have experience working with vendors to manage outsourced design, print, mailing, photography, or similarly complex processes for marketing development.
  • Must have experience managing integrated marketing promotions including deep understanding of the process, mail requirements, printing methods, ink and paper characteristics, digital channels including email, social media and text, etc.
  • Must have demonstrated experience working with customer relationship management databases (i.e., Salesforce, Exact Target, etc.), social media tools and other systems that support integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Must have strong working knowledge of campaign analytics for print, email, text and social media.
  • Must have expertise in MS Office suite including PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Must be able to handle multiple competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and timelines.
  • Must have the inter-personal skills to work with various groups within the organization and with external vendors.
  • Must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills with high level of attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Must be able to think quickly to develop solutions when problems arise to keep projects on track
  • Must have experience with process improvement with demonstrated evidence of significantly revamping processes.
