Chevy Chase Club is seeking professional Culinarians to join the outstanding team in our exquisite dining operations! The Line Cook's primary responsibility is to prepare foods for the Club membership and guests in a timely manner while upholding the highest standards of quality. It is expected of line cooks to work at a high pace while also staying organized. This role includes the opportunity to work in many different styles of operations; from Fast Casual to Upscale Casual, to Fine Dining. Accurately follows recipes and/or guiding principles Assists in the creation, updates and development of menu items. Actively uses creativity to create new dishes, design buffet arrangements or bring new ideas to the Executive Chef. Continuously produces food items to appropriate flavor standards, portions and plate presentation. Ensures that all product being used is of highest quality Ensures that all food stations are appropriately stocked with proper amount of product and rotates food effectively. Efficiently and effectively sets up and breaks down food stations (ie hot or cold restaurant lines or buffets). Maintains and ensures an appropriate level of sanitation in work area Communicates with the stewarding department to ensure that all necessary serving equipment is ready for service (ie plates, platters, chafing dishes, etc) Assists in maintaining the appearance, upkeep and cleanliness of food preparation equipment. Follows department and Chevy Chase Club policies and procedures including, but not limited to parking, cell phone use and appropriate conduct. Acts ethically and honestly at all times Adheres to all uniform, grooming & hygiene standards and maintains a professional appearance at all times. Displays commitment to the Club by demonstrating initiative toward assigned tasks and willingness to learn Works effectively and efficiently with other Chevy Chase Club staff Uses professional and effective verbiage when interacting with members and other club staff. Any other duties assigned by culinary management and Chevy Chase Club management personnel. Requirements Possesses the necessary food preparation and cooking skills to produce product to standard.
