Sr Quality Assurance Analyst - IT Division (Finance)The Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst is responsible for providing leadership over quality assurance initiatives. The Senior QA Analyst devises and implements overall quality assurance strategies for technology projects using the Information Technology (IT) Division?s System Development Methodology (SDM). The Senior QA Analyst is a member of the IT software development or systems team and works closely with other QA analysts, business clients, and IT technologists during the design, development, and test phases of software development and system deployments. The Senior QA Analyst is recognized as an expert in the areas of refining client business requirements; test case and test script development; user acceptance test support; designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test scripts; reporting software defects; and maintaining documentation. The Senior QA Analyst serves an expert and provides leadership and guidance in all aspects of the SDM, FISMA and security, testing strategies, quality assurance methods, and documentation requirements, and is responsible for developing these skills in other personnel. Requires a Bachelor's Degree in economics, finance, accounting, information systems, computer science, or a related discipline, and excellent analytical ability and oral and written communications skills typically acquired through a minimum of six (6) years full-time work experience or a Master's degree and five (5) years full time work experience. Strong knowledge of different application development platforms (web, distributed, mainframe). Extensive knowledge of the System Development Life Cycles. Extensive knowledge of IT security; awareness of vulnerabilities and methods for mitigating them. Self-motivation and ability to work well with others. Demonstrated ability to learn quickly about new security tools and how to use them. Experience testing complex applications with various components and writing test plans and detailed test scenarios. Experience with database querying. Ability to multi-task and take direction, handle stringent test deadlines and time and quality pressures, and accept and deliver in a challenging environment. Develops professional skills. Maintains awareness of evolving system development and quality assurance methodologies through professional publications and outside contacts. Ability to share with others the information gained by reviewing professional publications or by communicating with other professionals. Some background knowledge in the financial industry is preferred but not required. The successful applicant for this position will partner with business stakeholders to understand the business of the programs and projects that he/she supports from an end-to-end perspective, in terms of business context and information (data) flow. The applicant advocates for the business owners that he/she supports, by helping the business owner to traverse the IT organization and processes. The applicant provides end-to-end business context to data flow as part of business need definition, as input for IT to understand what is being asked for as part of implementation planning and execution. The applicant works with architectural review and other internal governance bodies to help stakeholders vet business needs prior to funding requests and solution creation. The applicant mentors and guides other stakeholders on business and data architectural best practices and techniques, to support holistic solution design and implementation. The successful applicant for this position uses judgment and analytical ability to work with cross-divisional and/or organizational management and staff to quickly identify issues and risks and develops approaches or plans to mitigate them. The applicant simultaneously works on the most complex software development and system development efforts. The applicant uses a high degree of creativity and analytical skills. The applicant understands interdependencies between bodies of work (eg, at program or project level) and how to manage them to reduce risk and facilitate successful execution. Exceptional communication skills are required due to the nature of the broad community of stakeholders that the applicant will work with. These excellent communication skills will be employed to plan, coordinate, explain, or advise on work efforts, or to resolve problems by influencing or motivating individuals or groups who may or may not be working toward mutual goals. The successful applicant should work well both independently and in a team environment, have strong leadership skills, possess a desire to learn and a willingness to teach, mentor, and share knowledge with others. Additionally, the applicant should have experience with root cause analysis and problem solving, including identifying alternate courses of action based on strong analysis supported by data and a willingness to collaborate with others to achieve common goals. Additional desirable skills/experience include: Hands-on experience working with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), including serving in one or more roles defined within this framework (eg, Product Owner, Release Train Engineer, etc.) Experience with cloud technologies and vendors (eg, AWS and/or Microsoft Azure), including experience defining and aligning business capability needs to their products and services Understanding of Business and Data Architecture, and how these disciplines relate to business reference and data flow modeling Hands-on experience employing data management best practices as part of system analytical work Hands-on experience working with Scrum and Kanban Agile methodologies Facilitation and Negotiation skills, to support business decision-making and priority setting Remarks: US citizenship.
