WMATA's Office of Bus Engineering is recruiting a Reliability/Analysis Manager with responsibilities for performance monitoring, warranty support, and maintenance support.

This position will manage and direct a multi-disciplinary team of employees and consulting staff to deliver a complex portfolio of high-visibility, high risk projects, meeting and exceeding stakeholder objectives for safety, customer service and leadership. Technical expertise in resolving complex engineering/maintenance issues and contract administration are preferred.

If you have successful project management experience coordinating multi-discipline contractor activities, highly developed competency managing stakeholders, and the ability to supervise field teams, you are encouraged to apply. Prior experience managing in a transit environment is preferred but not required.

Minimum Qualifications :

Education and Experience

Graduation from college or university with a degree in engineering or technical discipline and eight (8) years of experience engineering, operations , construction and/or project management that included supervision of maintenance and engineering groups . Or, an equivalent combination of post-secondary educaton and ten (10) experience in engineering, operations. construction and/or project man,agement that included supervision of maintenance and engineering groups.

Mission Essential Designation:

In accordance with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority's Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) this job has been identified as critical to mission essential functions. Incumbents in this role may be required to report to or continue to work in the event of authorized office closings or service suspensions due to severe weather, natural disaster, fire, operational emergencies or related events.

Job Summary/Essential Functions :

This is a managerial, technical, administrative, and supervisory position with responsibility for performance monitoring and reporting to achieve equipment and system reliability; warranty management; and vendor materials certification and quality verification.

Supervises a staff of engineers , analysts , technicians and inspectors to provide system and equipment performance monitoring, warranty support to maintenance, service problem identification and resolution , and usable, non-discrepant materials for effective maintenance.

Provides daily, weekly, and monthly system and subsystem component reliability monitoring and trend analysis.

Provides ongoing review of system, subsystem and component failure and maintenance data and produces standard, regular performance reports to appropriate Authority Offices.

Identifies early indications of equipment failure trends.

Administers an effective warranty management program for materials, components and equipment to assure procurement warranty requirements are met by contractors and vendors.

Provides quality engineering support for equipment and maintenance initiatives to include early review of failure trends; recommending and/or assisting with corrective actions to mitigate; review of proposed modifications; liaison and assistance for system and subsystem integration during any change implementation; testing and procedures recommendation and assistance; and troubleshooting equipment and/or maintenance problems.

Develops and administers a vendor certification program and provides routine inspections of incoming materials to assure adherence to procurement specifications.
