Position Summary/Purpose of Position: Maryland Applied Graduate Engineering ( MAGE ) is looking for a Coordinator for Marketing and Communications (Contingent II position) who will be responsible for supporting the Office in executing the communications strategy and marketing plans for the Professional Master of Engineering program offered through the A. James Clark School of Engineering. In this role, the Coordinator will develop website content, manage social media on a daily basis, write and gather stories and photos of alumni and current students to help tell stories, build affinity, and increase the profile and standing of the program among external and internal audiences. The Coordinator will regularly consult with other communications staff across the university and collaborate with colleagues in the Clark School of Engineering. The A. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English, public relations or related field plus 3-5 years' professional experience in marketing, communications or public relations required. * Experience using Drupal, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, or other software used for graphic design and/or multimedia production. * Also experience developing various metrics and analysis of marketing and communications campaigns Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Excellent oral and written communications, and creative, interpersonal, and organization skills are essential. Ability to interact successfully and collaboratively with individuals from a variety of different backgrounds and cultures is required. * Knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios * Working knowledge of search engine optimization ( SEO ) principles. * Demonstrated skill in data analysis and management. * Works well in a team environment. * Must be able to professionally represent the Office to internal and external vendors at various locations and events. * Ability to work independently, think creatively to solve problems, and take on new challenges proactively Preferences: * Master's degree from an accredited institution in marketing, public relations, communications, or other closely related field. * Experience in graphic design, marketing, public relations, or communications in a higher education setting. * Knowledge of Salesforce CRM system * Technically proficient with industry standard marketing and communications tools * Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple projects under the pressure of last-minute deadlines and changing priorities. Repetitive motion with substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to perform an activity such as: viewing a computer terminal for extended periods of time while writing content for key publications including: quarterly newsletter, annual report, brochures, fact sheets as well as MAGE's website. Ability to work adjustable hours as necessary - some weekends, early mornings, and late evenings will be required. Must be able to maneuver around the campus to attend meetings.
