Peraton is seeking a User Experience (UX) Lead Architect to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting the Department of State (DOS) Consular Systems Modernization (CSM) Program, for the Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA). This position is located in McLean, VA. This initiative is intended to modernize and consolidate the operational environment under a common technology framework in order to better support the services provided to CA's customers. The UX Lead Architect is responsible for a wide range of engineering activities and associated UX/user interface (UI) work products including research and design exercises, product wireframe development, and prototype development following a mobile-first, user-centered design approach. Roles and Responsibilities:Apply human performance and UX/UI principles, methodologies and technologies to the design and development of software solutions providing a common look and feels to all functions for ConsularOne customers and usersServes as the CSM program focal point for UX/UI technical issuesCollaborate with Product Owners, systems engineers, designers, developer teams and other stakeholders to research, design and ensure the build of UX/UI solutions to support customer and user vision, values and requirementsResearch, evaluate, and recommend tools and technologies for the CSM ProgramDefine UX/UI requirements, both functional and non-functional, as high level epics, features and user stories to support SAFe Agile methodologyEstablish, communicate, and maintain UX/UI architectural design guidelines, standards, processes and proceduresMaintain the information architecture, design system, design patterns, page layouts/templates, and user interface components for ConsularOne customer and user-facing web applicationsDevelop adaptive and responsive UX/UI wireframes for web-based applications using Adobe Creative Suite, Axure, and Salesforce, etc.Develop UX/UI solutions that are compliant with 508, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and US Web Design System (USWDS) standardsDefine and develop Salesforce user interface design system and work with Salesforce developers on out-of-the-box solutionsFacilitate formal and informal UX design reviews to ensure compliance with UX/UI standards, style and branding for common look and feel across all ConsularOne products and servicesApply in-depth knowledge of UI design/development tools (Bootstrap, JavaScript, Angular, React, NodeJS) to design and develop responsive web and mobile applicationsProvide leadership to the cross-functional UX teams and across discipline boundaries to deliver high-quality user experiences with common look and feelMentor UX/UI technical employeesBasic Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:Bachelor's degree in Design, Computer Science, Human Factors or a related field and at least 12 years' experienceAt least three (3) years' experience managing or leading a team of at least four peopleMust have a current, active Secret (or higher) clearanceDemonstrates broad technical expertise and experience with full life cycle of UX/UI research, design, development and testing in an agile or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environmentStrong design fundamentals including information design, interaction design, visual design, industry UX/UI standards across platforms, and UX best practicesSolid understanding and experience design and developing for Accessibility, eg, Section 508, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)Demonstrated proficiency with multiple industry standard UX design tools and prototyping tools (eg, Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Axure RP Pro, et. al)Experience using engineering environments and tools that support agile development, such as JIRA, Confluence, and/or IBM Rational Team Concert (RTC), IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM)Outstanding communication, organization, time management, and interpersonal skillsPreferred Qualifications:Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:Experience working with front-end development frameworks (eg, Angular, React, NodeJS, and Bootstrap)Experience designing web application interfaces in an agile environment using standardized design components, patterns, and templates (eg, using and applying UX/UI design systems)Understanding and experience designing and developing adaptive and responsive web and mobile applicationsStrong proficiency with multiple industry standard UX design tools and prototyping tools (eg, Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Axure RP Pro, et. al)Experience designing out-of-the-box solutions using the Salesforce platformWe are an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
