Assists in the design, configuration, and operation of networked low voltage building systems to meet the intent of the project requirements at federal and military sites, primarily around the Washington DC Metro area. Assists in the development of project designs, drawings, and development to ensure a delivery of a complete and functional designed system. Provides detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, field installation teams, and subcontractors. Location: Will primarily support customer sites in the Washington DC Metro area. Must be based in the DC Metro area, but able to work remote / virtual (work from home) when not needed at a customer site. Benefits: Eligible for benefits on first day of employment. Vacation: Eligible for 3 weeks of paid vacation per calendar year How you will do it 1. Designs and configures technically functional networked electronic security systems (direct experience with these systems not required) as defined by contract documents. Create drawing packages TDP (technical data packages), sequence of operations, bill of material, network layouts and electrical requirements. 2. Ability to integrate different networked subsystems with each other. 3. Coordinates and creates of necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation. 4. Selects, materials for assigned projects. 5. Assists in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers as required. Assists in validation of complete system functionality and troubleshoots problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation. 6. Provides field change information to the project team for the creation of as-built drawings and software. 7. Keeps management and JCFS contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues. 8. Assists in performing site-specific training for owner / operator on the total building control solution. 9. Participates in customer meetings with project team. Performs value engineering to provide cost effective results while maintaining customer satisfaction. 10. Adheres to safety standards. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety. What we look forRequired 1. Demonstrated knowledge of advancing networking protocols. Five (5) or more years preferred 2. Ability to relate technical knowledge to a non-technical audience.3. The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance required. (This involves a background/character, criminal history, employment, and credit check.)Preferred1. Bachelor's Degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field 2. Relevant networking certifications (Network+, A+, CCNA, MCSA, MCSE, CCENT, etc) 3. Knowledge of low voltage Electronic Security Systems (CCTV, access controls, Intrusion Detection systems) and other building subsystems highly desired. 4. Experience with pre-sales development of security projects (audits, surveys, cost estimates, etc)5. Demonstrated advanced computer skills, particularly computer-related drafting tools.
