Must be able to obtain Red Corridor Access.SUMMARY OF POSITION:The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the design, implementation, support, security compliance, and disaster recovery of Tower's enterprise infrastructure to include LAN/WAN, telecom - data and voice, and security infrastructure. Incumbent is also responsible for: hardware and software life cycle management as related to LAN/WAN, datacenter and security infrastructure; establishing and testing network infrastructure recovery including DR/BCP procedures; and development, compliance, and automation of approved configuration security baselines of LAN/WAN, datacenter and security infrastructure. This position assigns and oversees the daily work activities of the network infrastructure System Engineer(s) in conjunction with the AVP, Technical Services.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND FUNCTIONS:1. Designs, manages, secures, and supports Tower's LAN/WAN, datacenter, and security infrastructure.2. Designs, manages, secures, and supports network components of VMware virtualized datacenters.3. Applies knowledge and skills of Cisco IOS/NX-OS including hands-on experience configuring and managing Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) network infrastructure, load balancers, VPNs, network automation, SAN solutions, and micro segmentation.4. Assesses performance, reliability and integrity of Tower's LAN/WAN, datacenter and security infrastructure to ensure all systems meet the present and future needs of the business. Provides short-term and long-term systems infrastructure planning recommendations to management.5. Oversees the maintenance of current and complete documentation of network infrastructure specifications. to include preparing descriptions and diagrams in accordance with standards established in conjunction with the AVP, Technical Services. This includes problem logs, alerts, and filing regular periodic status reports.6. Deploys, maintains, and enhances the security of network systems through administrative, preventive, detective, and reactive controls, such as change and configuration management, patch management, and vulnerability scanning in accordance with company and divisional security directives. Adheres to approved technology and security standards and development of baseline configurations in accordance with these standards.7. Analyzes network infrastructure activity to discover and prevent systematic errors. Recommends network design changes and enhancements for improved availability and performance.8. Provides enterprise network capacity planning and monitoring requirements.9. Provides network connectivity design of Tower's LAN/WAN, business-to-business connections and remote access VPN connections.10. Provides technical support assessment for complex projects and project plan development in support of Tower's requirements. Subject matter expert and team lead in projects requiring network and security infrastructure technical leadership.11. Coordinates the daily work of the Technical Services network infrastructure engineers to include prioritizing tasks and determining work assignments, and following through on tasks and functions to satisfactory completion. Provides input to the manager in reference to the performance management process.12. Develops, recommends and implements infrastructure parameters, policies, standards and procedures, including regular updates. Coordinates and oversees the installation of new enterprise network and security software releases in coordination with IS Operations, Software Services, Information Security and user departments.13. Responsible for remediation of security vulnerability audit findings as related to network infrastructure and in coordination with the Manager, assessment of findings and response to include risks and remedial actions.14. Train and mentor level I, II, and III Systems Engineers. Ensure cross-training and support coverage for Tower's network infrastructure.15. Acts as the manager in his/her absence when delegated.16. Performs related duties when assigned.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, engineering, or a related technical discipline. Experience to include:* Five to eight years of relevant and successful experience managing complex local area and wide area networks (LAN/WAN) and management of Cisco hardware running IOS/IOS XR/NX-OS operating systems.* Experience to include five years in one or a combination of the following:* successfully planning, designing, deploying and managing the networking components of virtualized datacenter solutions, including server and desktop infrastructure (preferably with VMware/UCS);* managing security compliance and configuration standardization of network and security infrastructure;* planning, designing and deploying security infrastructure including firewalls, email and web proxies, data loss prevention solutions, IDS/IPS, and VPN;* planning and deploying telecommunications services (data and voice).* Or, an equivalent combination of education, certifications and experience.* Certification in at least one of the following: Cisco CCNP (R, Data Center, Security), Cisco CCDP, VMware VCP-NV and/or other relevant industry certifications is required.COMPETENCIES:* Demonstrated knowledge and success with:* Networking strategies and concepts to include LAN/WAN, datacenter, security infrastructure and related DR/BCP* Enterprise grade products to include Nexus 7000, Nexus 9000, ISR, Meraki, Catalyst, UCS, ASA, FTD, ISE, VMware NSX, Solarwinds, Tenable, Netscalers* Routing, switching, and security principles, concepts and industry best practices* BGP, EIGRP, TCP/IP, Trunking, Port-Channels, VLANs, VDCs, HSRP, STP, Ethernet, Fiber, Metro-Ethernet, MPLS, QOS, NAT, Access-lists, IPSec VPN, GRE, DNS, DHCP, VOIP, Netflow, Syslog, SNMP, Tacacs, ISPs and Telecommunications providers.* Security strategies and practices related to Tower's technology infrastructure* Scripting and automation tools.* Ability to create and organize reports that synthesize complex information.* Ability to create and effectively present relevant and readable diagrams, graphs, charts and presentation materials, proposals, reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals for a diverse audience.* Ability to understand and analyze financial and operational data.* Ability to read, analyze and interpret contracts, business periodicals, professional journals, government regulations.* Ability to effectively coach staff for on the job development and evaluation of performance.* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. * Ability to initiate long and short term planning that supports credit union business plans, following through with successful implementation as authorized.* Ability to effectively manage multiple complex projects from initiation to completion (knowledge of project life cycle).* Ability to develop action plans and organize workload, of self and others, to accommodate competing deadlines and projects.* Ability to work effectively under stress and maintain approved work schedules.* Ability to arrive at work routinely and promptly.* Ability to initiate and follow through with individual development plans for assigned staff, provide constructive feedback to others, serving both as a coach and evaluator.* Ability to effectively negotiate on behalf of the organization.* Ability to motivate and influence others to take action.* Ability to facilitate group discussion and gain consensus.* Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information.* Ability to interact effectively and professional with colleagues and managers.WORKING CONDITIONS:* Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends as needed* Responsible for being available 24X7 via mobile and landline communications to support systems operations.* Must be willing to travel to remote worksites to include DR/BCP centers, branches, and vendor sites.* Occasional lifting from floor, as well as table height, and transporting of moderately heavy (up to 50 lbs.) objects, such as computers and infrastructure components. * Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to operate other computer components. * Red Corridor Access (RCA) Clearance Required.
