MIL currently holds several multi-year contracts with NAWCAD in the areas of Cyber, C5ISR, and Information Technology systems.

Summary

The MIL Corporation is seeking an Information Systems & Cyber Security, Senior Associate, who will support a Federal Government client based at our St. Inigoes, MD location. This position may be eligible for remote work depending on contract/client and hiring manager approval.

The Information Systems & Cyber Security, Senior Associate will apply CTT, RMF, and IA principles to investigate, analyze, plan, implement, assess and validate Cyber Security of Customs and Border Protection mobile or tower-based sensor systems (NIR & VIS cameras, radars, laser illuminators, ground-based acoustic sensors, etc.).

Key Duties
  • Synthesize existing Cyber Security documented processes to tailor a custom approach in Acquisition processes for investigation, research, design, development, and test of system components/equipment/subsystems for approved posture
  • Apply systems engineering principles, to identify, isolate and resolve or circumvent cybersecurity problems.
  • Work with other IA professionals to develop technical solutions to problems, implement enhancements and upgrade system architectures as may be required to support cybersecurity concerns.
  • Update and assess software and processes compliance of system Authority to Operate (ATO) packages.
  • Apply Categorization, Security Control selection along with required artifacts utilizing eMASS for ATO packages.
  • Communicate security issues to operations and operation issues to Cyber program.
  • Provide information security expertise to system development teams throughout the System Engineering Life-cycle process.
  • Ensure Plan of Action & Milestone (POA&M) reports are maintained and that security vulnerabilities are tracked and remediated.
  • Define system security requirements, assess system security architecture designs, and support the development and sustainment of an Enterprise Risk Management Framework (RMF Accreditation package throughout all lifecycle phases.
  • Conduct certification and testing in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) policy; identify deficiencies and provide recommendations of risk mitigation to customer.
  • Supervise and/or mentor junior engineering staff.

Required Qualifications
  • Security + certification
  • 10 years of related experience; 7 years of related experience with a Master's Degree from an accredited college.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of direct experience with government IT systems information assurance activities.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of direct experience with government IT and/or network systems support.
  • Solid working knowledge of system engineering and system architecture principles.
  • Knowledge of communication systems, sensor systems, LAN/WAN network architecture, network topology and protocols.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving ability.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Some travel required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Qualifications
  • Top Secret Clearance
  • Knowledge of C5ISR sensor systems.
  • Certifications or experience in related information or sensor system technologies.
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN network architecture, network topology and protocols, network cabling and interfaces.
  • Cyber Table Top (CTT) experience.
  • Experience with OS virtualization and SAN architectures.
  • Experience with of assessment and containment of cybersecurity incidents and interaction with CIRTs.
  • Experience with NIPR/SIPR networks.
  • Experience with HBSS, HIPS, or other cybersecurity modules.

Education

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. Six (6) years of work experience related to the position or an Associate's Degree plus four (4) years of additional work experience related to the position may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.

Clearance
  • All applicants for this position must possess a Secret Clearance; please note that the clearance process takes into account financial background aspects.
  • Able to successfully complete a DHS CBP Background Investigation.
  • US Citizenship required.
