HP051 Junior Python Programmer We are seeking a Junior Python programmer to support the development of data analysis software for the NASAESA Solar Orbiter mission. This is a part-time (20-30 hours per week) position that is based at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, MD. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position may become full-time depending upon future funding. Position duties Become familiar with the SunPy (httpssunpy.org httpssunpy.org ) open-source Python library for Solar Physics data analysis and visualization. Support the parallelization of spectral fitting packages in the Astropy Python library used in Astronomy. Expand the capability of the Solar Orbiter SPICE instrument software to read data into a graphical interface tool. Update the SPICE data reader to comply with the latest version of the ndcube package designed for handling n-dimensional datacubes. Troubleshoot, track, and resolve technical issues. Work with users to improve existing features and develop new applications. Maintain software using the Git version control system. Required Experience Recent Bachelors in Computer Science or Information Technology (or equivalent degreediploma). Undergraduates will also be considered. Python programming (at least two years). Git version control system. ship or Permanent Residence is required
